Default All season vs winter

I have an Audi A6 prestige, 2011 with all season tires and 19in wheels. The tires are michelin pilot sport AS I believe and they were just discontinued. Had some problems with potholes and was lucky enough to get the last one (so they tell me). These tires are expensive, about $325/tire. What is a comparable tire below $300? I know Michelins are expensive. I had to replace the one tire because of a bubble. However, I didnt know that because of how the quattro system works, you cant put 2 different tires up front or in back for that matter, because it will screw up the quattro system. The Audi dealer did tell me though you can replace with a comparable tire. He offered another Michelin @ $385!! So whats comparable to a Michelin Pilot AS and under $300 but still good performing?

And whats a decent winter tire?
Thanks

If you got away for only $325 to recover from a ruined tire you got off easy. I had a similar experience and by the time I had my two wheels repaired and two replacement tires it was close to $1500 and that was with the Goodyear A/S (which were also discontinued--so finding a pair was tough).

As far as winter tires, I liked the Michelin xIce 3s, but I only ran them one season and we didn't have much in the way of ice and snow last year.

Yea I purchased the tire and rim insurance. Now I have some piece of mind. Now I can go bang as many potholes as I want!

Im in NJ and we are having a really bad winter. Roads are terrible. Id recommend the insurance though.

Default Wheel and Tire Package

Year: 2014
Make: A4
Model: Premium Plus / Sport 18"
Location: Wisconsin
Tires only or winter package: Open to both.

What Tire and Wheel combo would you recommend, or if I keep the 18" rims and only get tires - What should I go with?

I'm not sure the -1" thing would do me much good, but I could be persuaded with the right logic.

Cheers,

Question:

I just moved up here from Florida and have NO IDEA how to drive in the snow, so I want to be 1000% protected. What's the best route to go, to be prepared? Do I "just" need good tires? Should I upgrade my rotors now too?

Smile Winter tires

Looking for winter tires for 2015 S7 (20", factory wheels) in VT. When will they be available for purchase (need 265/35X20XL). Also I have factory wheels (19X9 from 2011 S6...do not fit 2015 S7) for sale.

Default Audi A4 B5

Got an interesting question for you guys. What is the max tire size I could put on my stock 16 rims on my Audi A4 B5. Stock suspension and height. I ask in this thread because I found some snow tires but not sure they will fit. They are 225/60r16

Default Winter Tire Question

I just got the Audi winter tire package for my new Allroad. I got the car at the end of last winter and went through two unpleasant snow storms without winters tires. The tires are 225/55 17 Dunlop SP winter sport 3D's. The owners manual says that all season tires of that size on the allroad should be 30 psi all around. I was wondering if the winters would require the same or different pressure? I get grief for having winters on an Audi, but I had them on my old A4 too. People don't get that AWD doesn't help stop your car, and the wide standard 245/45 18 all seasons don't help the situation either.

Question best tire for my 2007 Audi A4 2.0T

Hi,
I'm new to this, so please be patient with me while I'm learning the rules.

My question out there is, "what are the best tires for my 2007 Audi A4 2.0T"?

2007 Audi A4 2.0T Utah Tires - (235/45 R17)

I purchased the Michelin Premium A/S a week ago. The tires do not come all the way out and meet or protect the rim. I have had it verified that they are the right tires. However, they may not be the best tires for Audi A4. We have been blasted with tons of snow, & icy roads currently in Utah. I paid $870 for 4 new tires. My big concern is yes, I want safety first, but I want a quiet ride, good traction, & decent warranty. I don't think I can stand the way the new tires look. Michelin has a 30-day money back guarantee. So I need to do something or nothing about this soon...

Any suggestions or feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks!

High performance winter tires were originally designed to meet strict government regulations for driving on high-speed highways in Europe. They feature large directional and/or asymmetric treads to enhance handling and steering, resist hydroplaning and help tires work through slush. Check this one out https://dsrleasing.com.
