Default Clean/Wax the top of A3???

Just wondering how folks are treating the top spoiler and top of windshield on the A3. Is it glass? Is it fiberglass? Do we use wax on it?

thanks in advance..

Are you talking about the black Open Sky? I think it's made of plastic. So far I've just been washing and drying it.

The open sky starting from the front is glass, glass, glass and the last part is black painted steel. The side trims which typically pop out when left in the sun (at least mine do) are made of plastic.

Default Rain-X the Glass

And water will bead up and run right off. Unlike the windshield, which needs to be Rain-Xed every month or so because it wears off due to wiper action and ablation (look it up), the Open Sky only needs Rain-X every year or so.

I just assumed to use car wax on painted areas only . is it effective on glass the way it is on paint? i just use rain-x on all glass. and its amazing.

The dilemma, which is the reason for your post, the open sky is 3/4 glass, 1/4 painted metal . . .

I don't think it matters which you do, rain-x or wax. To me waxing is easier, one less product to buy
