I am the proud new (general <-ill get to that later) owner of a 1988 audi 90 quattro. It took me almost a year to come across one that was worth the money and suddenly one appeared in a dealership 2 miles away from my house...for 1300$....my jaw dropped and i was practically panicking making sure noone else would buy it out from under me.....its red with black leather interior/quattro/and just about everything i wanted... down to the standard 2.3L 5cyl....now about me being a general owner...me being just 16 years old... am only a few months away from purchasing a car...BUT...my best friend just had to sell his jeep to pay off some debts....and he desperatly needed a car and didnt want to buy some 4 banger front wheel drive thing. low and behold he went out and purchased the audi after i practically forced him out to the dealership...and since were really close friends he said the minute he gets his newer car hes selling me the car for a dirt cheap price..... so generally the cars gonna be mine starting around next summer when hes back on his feet and getting some good money coming in....but OTHER then that im looking for ANY AT ALL INFORMATION to just make the car go faster ;) i hang out with him seriously everyday...especially now since hes driving the audi. and hes gonna let me drive it around whenever i want so i wanna (prepare) the car for me heh heh. i REALLY appretiate the guys who responded to my 80/90 turbochargable? thread and im going to put all the info to good use.

theres blemishes on the paint here and there but the interior is pracitcally flawless

i would appretiate any at all information on the car and even some known problems other then the belts liking to brake ocasionally...were replacing the major ones in a few weeks and basically just restoring the car.... so like i said ANY tips at all would be thanked.

If you want some real power though Go with the 2.2T 10v engine. Relatively affordable if you do it yourself. Very costly 4-7k if you have a shop do it. www.MotorGeek.com is a good website for turbocharging Audis. Check it out if you have any questions on getting a project like that underway.

Today there are very few mods that you can do to the 2.3 engine. The money you spend will give you very little HP gains in return. The best you will be able to muster is probably around 165 ponies in a normally aspirated mode, about the same as a stock 20V 5-Cyl. I drove a '94 V6 90Q and an '88 90Q the performance difference is not dramatic.
moderator...please delete this thread.....sorry for all who took any second out of there lives to respond........aparently the audis trans is going and theres some valve damage....and we just now carfaxed and its been in over 4 accidents!...woo.........18 records in all....if ur curious WAUHC089XJA292231 check it out.....the cars still under warrenty and since he really paid hardly anything for it hes gonna look for something that WORKS....when i buy my OWN audi im gonna start posting again...sorry ill tty in a few months....sucks we definatly jumped the gun on this one...owell
