Default Multitronic transmission problem

Hello,

I got 2000 2.8 L A6 Avant 220 000 km with Multitronic transmission (CVT).

CVT showed some problems that local Audi deler cannot fix (nor can explain). There is no transmission rebuild shop for CVT in our country.

Problem description: CVT still runs but in the range of engine rpm 1100-1800
produces periodic (2-3 s interval) metal rattling sound like metal slipping over metal. It occurs during acceleration and cruising, but does not occur when slowind down. Engine revs
jump slightly (say from 1400 to 1500) during this sound and the vibration comes out of CVT. No codes during scan. CVT fluid was
replaced at 125.000 km. Less evident in cold (it runs almost smooth first few miles). Effect emerged 5-7.000 km ago and gradually develops.....

Questions:
- is it possible to rebuild this transmission somwhere?
- does anyone know what it is?
- can you help with contact in Audi AG for consultation?

Thanks

Dmitri
