looked around many discussion boards and another person said that it can't be done with software. is this true?

also are there any other mods that i can do with the vag com? i just got one and am anxious to see what can be done other than the auto lock and auto windows with remote.

What's the mod you are wanting to do? Not sure what the country code would do for the fogs. Did you mean DRL? Or looking for a mod to turn on the fogs without turning on the headlights?

i want to be able to turn on the foglight without having the headlights on. but i was told that for my car (2001 A6 2.7T) that it is hardware controlled not software. is it true?

Right. Here are instructions. Takes about 5 minutes plus the time to drive to the store to get fuse taps.

you can run a jumper form the feed side of the rear wiper/heated steering wheel socket to the load side of the foglight switch, just make sure you put a 15amp fuse in there somewhere...and then you should be able to run just fogs...enjoy

Very easy mod using the fog light "jumper" made from the fuse taps. If you want, I have an extra one I can send you so you can try it out. Let me know.

once installed, the fogs will turn on when you turn on your parking lights and pull the headlight switch out one notch. Headlights do not have to be on for this to work. Do you want the extra jumpers?
