There is a thread on both of those subjects....one asked people to post pics of their window tint...one has the stories of run in with cops. Do a search on Window tint and you should come up with them both.
I think the general consensus is that you have to be unlucky to get a ticket for illegal window tint. You get a cop having a bad day or you give attitude or they just really want to get you for something.

I just had mine tinted a couple of weeks ago. 13% all around which is illegal in FL. I will try to post a pic tonight. I've heard different stories, from 'fix-it' tickets to cops scratching the tint off. The only time I got nailed was for having the entire front windshield tinted and all I got was a 'fix-it' ticket. Take it off and pay $32.00.
103F damn ya its close to 100F everyday here in long island. Tints really help with interior too no matter what type of darkness your tint is it'll block 99 percent of the UV rays. Those rays kill the interior of your car. Btw a lot of my frineds have 20 percent tints and i dont think they ever get bugged by cops but i played it safe. G luck! Post pics after your car gets them done
