audilover04 -> RE: RS4 - M3 - C55AMG COMPARISON TEST (8/4/2005 12:25:22 PM)

Who cares, we all know the RS4 will dominate the comparrison test. The debate between M3 and S4 has always been close. Many mags pic the M3 very slightley to win. They usually say the M3 beats the S4 0-60 and 1/4mile etc. Last test I saw though the S4 had the best slalom time. Audi has created the new Rs4 to beat the M3. It's going to to make 420 (M3 333hp) and that gives it a better HP/weight ratio. PLus with the Rs4's versitility being a larger 4 door sedan, there is no way it could loose. And the C55 has come in 3rd every time when comparred against the M3 and the normal S4, the it's got no chance in this test.

Jenny -> RE: RS4 - M3 - C55AMG COMPARISON TEST (8/7/2005 1:33:45 AM)

yeah wheres the link

isnt there any validity though to the argument that classing the RS4 against the M3 is not sound?

I have a s4 b6 and am often asked why i didnt get an m3

im just thinking in terms of stock s4 stock m3 stock c55...rs4 seems a different car all together
it damn better out perform the stock m3 in their little test

audilover04 -> RE: RS4 - M3 - C55AMG COMPARISON TEST (8/11/2005 2:27:54 PM)

I say the M3 vs. the S4 isnt a fair comparisson, because how is a 4 door 4wd car supposed to be comparable to a 2 door 2wd coupe that weighs much less? either way M3, S4, RS4, there are no two that can be compared fairly IMOP.

TH12NV -> RE: RS4 - M3 - C55AMG COMPARISON TEST (8/11/2005 2:41:47 PM)

yes, cars make a difference. in this case i like the s4. but imo the DRIVER has a lot to do with most outcomes.

abacab -> RE: RS4 - M3 - C55AMG COMPARISON TEST (8/18/2005 12:47:44 PM)

the rs4 should be compared to the e90 m3 when it comes out for 2007...that would be the car that buyers in that segment would naturally be looking at an comparing to.

Exactly. The RS4 should dominate for near 80K with options. That's new M5 range.

A 333hp V6 2dr RWD Coupe vs. a 414hp V8 4dr AWD sedan @ 50K or 75K respectively???

The funny thing is with the "official" stats that Audi themselves are publishing for the RS4, the M3 will still most like have the edge below 100. The RS4 will obviously dominate thereafter. I was surprised by Audi's figures. I expected the RS4 to be low 4's and not high, as with all other RS models of recent past. Maybe they are just being conservative (I would hope).

If you are going to compare M/RS models more fairly it would be between the RS4 and CSL. Still two different machines though, but a more fair comparison nonetheless.

The RS4 is a great freakin' car though and I can't wait to see one up close.[:)]

You mean inline six. And the S4 did just fine beeing even with the M3, you can definily tell who the editors like the most and not nessisarily based on car performance.

kakarot -> RE: RS4 - M3 - C55AMG COMPARISON TEST (10/12/2005 10:30:21 PM)

this cars are defenatly diferent in all aspects, I mean audi is heavy and still can pull out racings. and Quatro gives fair advantage in racing but not in straight road, to much power lost over gears. If I would chose I would go with RS4 definatly.

Yes I did sorry.

cgaffney004 -> RE: RS4 - M3 - C55AMG COMPARISON TEST (10/25/2005 2:25:32 PM)

The M3 will always dominate the S4. You cannot compare the new RS4 to a stock M3. You have to compare it to the M3 CSL simply by price range and specifications. The CSL will out handle this car in steering feel and overall driver involvement its been proven time and time again. In owning an S4 and a BMW, my S4 has never even compared to the sheer driver involvement or handling of my 95 e36 BMW.

Well seeing that i own both a 95 BMW M3 and an Audi S4, I am only speaking from experience. Besides I am a member of Bimmerforums and DTMpower. I live for BMW's and Audi's and tune lots of them.
