Default New to Audi

Hi all. I just picked up my first Audi....a 2001 S4. I've only had it for 4 days but I'm lovin' it. I just finished the lease on my 2002 Acura RSX Type-S. I loved the RSX but it's time for something a little more solid.

Any advice for a new owner? The car has 50K miles on it. The only problem I have is that the ashtray won't open. Other than that, the car appears to be absolutely perfect.

Also, I've seen alot on this forum and others about the differences between the 2001 and the 2001.5 cars. How can I tell the difference? I have the newer-style badges. Is it true that the S4 logo is on the tach in the .5's and the speedo on the older models?

Thanks! Nice to be here.

Default RE: New to Audi

Welcome to the forum BostonS4!

This is a great site. We keep the dialogue friendly and the attitude positive. The info is well received by all and we are here to help anyone with the need. I hope you find it to your liking as well.

If you're not familiar with this forum, please click the START HERE! link. There you will find a forum vocab list, an Audi forum terminology list and an Audi lexicon list. They should be very helpful to you if you're not familiar with the jargon.

Please feel free to ask any question, but double check the archives first. Many questions have been archived and, quite often, the answers are comprehensive.

================================================== ===========

Although the archives can give you a lot of info on your questions, I will start you off with this advice... Check the following for any necessary replacement:
1. DV's
2. TBB
3. Coolant Sensor
4. Tie rods and control arms.
