what does a bad turbo do?

u get no boost and it has a screamin sound
why wut makes u think u have a bad turbo

when i first start up in the morning it sounds like someone is taking a grinder to metal. It is only for about 2 min and then you hear something shut down and it quits. Has anyone ever had this problem? Does anyone know what turns on during start-up. Again the only time i hear it is in the morning when it has sat all night.

it does sound like screaming. I think it has to be either the starter getting stuck a little further than normal or a bad turbo
