Default safe boost pressure

What is a save amount of boost to boodt up to with a manual controller on a stock 1.8t

well ive seen someone run 22 psi but that was with a chip, the safest would probaly be around 12 psi. anything above that and you risk ruining you turbo

HEY,HEY.I have 1998 a4 1.8t and i am running 24 pounds of boost and i dont have a problem.I have gt28rs turbo and a giac chip,i love the power in that the car puts out,i dont c y u cant run up 2 22lbs of boost,because most chips are programed up 2 22lbs.

if i were to get the chip.. from giac there boost level is lik 1.2 bar 16 psi how much is a stock turbo good to if i were to get a boost controler and boost it a little more

iif u do get the chip u could run about 12 to 15lbs of boost on the stock turbo,but when u do that the life of the factory turbo not going to last u too long.garrett has a setup for the factory factory settings without changing your intake manifold. you would have to modify your air box setup, u have to get a mass air flow sensor from a jetta or a golf vr6 then u would have to remove ignition module and put it beyond the mass air leading towards the turbo. any question u can call me at 407-791-5202 its easier to get me by phone,i am not on the computer all the time.
