Default ecu problem?

hi all .. my car starts and runs fine . a 98 a6 1.8t. the abs and air bag light are on , so i took it to my local audi specialist and he could not contact my ecu ....my abs light is intermittent , i drove to work this morning ( damp ) and got all the way there without the light coming on..went out at lunchtime ( so sunny ) lamp is on again .... just came out of work (raining) and the abs lamp was off... till i jumped on the brakes and it came back on again ....does any of you wise chaps have the answer? plz.... john

Default RE: ecu problem?

I recall reading some random repair procedure in a Haynes manual that there is an ABS sensor plug behind the wheel somewhere. You may want to check and make sure it's properly seated. Sorry I don't have more specifics on the location of the plug. Hell.....I don't even know if it applies to your car. Good luck.
