When I turn my rear fog light(s), I notice that only one light goes on (the one to the left of the license plate). However, I saw another Audi on the road a few days ago and noticed that he had two fog lights on (on each side of the license plate).

Does the A6 2.7T come with two fog lights in the rear? Maybe the bulb is out on the right side? I just would like to confirm this.

Thanks in advance
Alberto

They only came with one. Don't have any idea why but I took my 00 apart and there is only one light fixture back there. There are many posts on how to add one to it, now I am not sure if or when they Audi may have added 2 back there but I know for sure that up to 01 at least there is only one. Hope that helps I have been meaning to add another to mine just have not gotten there yet.

There is only one because of safety. Usually the rear fog light is brighter than the usual real tail light, and brake lights. When there are two, it can make it more difficult for drivers to tell when you have your brakes on. In Germany it's used this way (one rear fog) to differentiate from the brake lights.

You'd have to figure that if in poor visibility someone is thinking "Hey, that guy has a light out".. they see you and it's doing its job ;)

Actually, in 2002, Audi added the 2nd rear fog light in the A6.
