I would say I'm new but now eligible to post my comment because last month I placed an order for A3 DSG with premium, cold and navigation package.
I was just looking for something nice but affordable to replace my wife's car, but I really fell in love with A3 DSG right after the test drive. 20.T FSI-DSG combination is awesome!
Definitely it runs faster than stick version. In fact no one can't shift up and down so quickly with perfect rev matching...
Anyway, I ordered A3 for my wife, but now I'm jealous...
The only problem that I have is what the dealer confessed me.
"Well, sorry, but the current lead time is over 60 days. You can probably get it late in November..."
Gosh! I don't know why it takes so long, but anyway, I ordered it because I love it.
Does anyone have a shorter lead time for it?
Hey welcome to the forums. The new A3 is a ton of fun to drive. Bet you can't wait to take delivery. Did you search all of the dealers for an A3 that you like? If you had to order it from Germany then yes it will take several months to build.

Thank you for the welcome message.
I didn't look for other dealer just because I would like to buy it in town for the future convenience.
Actually the dealer said they sent an order to Germany, that is why it will take so long....
Anyway, I have to wait, but I will post my A3 picture as soon as I get it.
hmm...your dealer can also bring in many vehicals from other dealers. What do you mean by future convenience? You can have your Audi serviced at any dealership no matter what.

Actually after I placed an order, my sales rep said there was no exact A3 that I ordered...
I'm not sure if my order is kind of rare combination or not.
I checked the dealer today and found that my A3 has been assembled, inspected in Germany and shipped out already. They said it's on the boat now! According to the info, it would be at the dealer on the week of November 28th. It sounds like they need 5-6 days to clear the customs and additional 10-11days to deliver it to the dealer location. I would imagine Audi USA has a apecial final check process before transport new vehicles to the dealer, which I belive is a typical process.
Well, DSG is a kind of automatic transmission, but different from normal torque converter automatic. DSG stands for Direct Shift Gearbox. It comes with shift paddles too.
Please see Audi USA website for more detail, but I would recommend to try it at your local Audi dealer. That is AWESOME!
Anyway, Seeing is believing. Have a test drive today!
