edit-i test drove it today and the only real problem i had was the clutch grabbed pretty late in the throw, like almost all the way up. typical audi? is the clutch going out? i'm going to have it inspected before i consider purchasing, but any input from experience would help, thanks.

Hey welcome to the forums! The clutch is normal for Audi's. They almost always grab at the top. It just takes some getting used to. Keep in mind that when the car gets to 60 -70k miles it will need the timing belt service. This is an expensive service to the tune of $500-1000. It's because the whole front end is removed and the timing belt, water pump, thermostat and idle pully need changed. I would try to knock a grand off the price and have them throw in the timing belt change.

sounds good.

is there any way to make the clutch grab lower in the throw? my friend used to use a clutch stand in his old m3 and it worked fine, but i guess all clutches are different. the fact that it grabs higher doesn't effect performance at all? just seemed a bit awkward, my bmw had a realy short throw.
