Default electric problem

As you all know most Audis are equipped with a little screen between the tach and the speedo. Well mine stopped working

From what i figured the was it is assembled is there is actually 2 layers of screens. This is what happens: When I put the key in and turn it into ignition i see pres clutch to start the car. Nothing unusual yet. When i start the car.... well thats when the problems arise. The only thing i see is the top part where it tell you if something is wrong (burnt light, brake pads....). That is one of the layers of the screens. But when there is nothing wrong it doesnt show me whats on the radio (cd track #, radio preset....) it is just blank. Then the whole bottom part is blank too (where it shows you the outsede temp in the middle and the avg speed, mileage, miles until empty..... on the bottom). When i open the doors is shows me that they are open in that part.

So i concluded that the open door indicator and the problem indicator is on one layer of the screen which works, and the layer that is supposed to show me whats on the radio, outside temp and other car stats is broken

Damn VWs and their electrical problems

Anyone else ever experienced that?? How much would it cost to fix?? Its not covered under warranty cause i have 3rd party warranty and it doesnt cover elecrical stuff. Any help appreciated.

Default electric problem

I have experienced that problem. It is very simple to fix. On the Windshield wiper control, there is a button on the bottom, it says reset, press it once and everything should be restored. I hope this helps.
