This may be a bit of a difficult question but:

How do you think the 2003 rs6 will be in 3 years?

Will its glory fade out behind whatever else is coming out?
I know prices will be lower, as they already are easy to find in the 69 68 range...
Perhaps in 3 years it will be low 50s and even 40s for high mileage?

Also are there still brand new audi rs6s on lots that still have the 80 K price tag sitting around?
Or is that just legend?
All opinions would be of interest to me, thanks guys.

I dont see Audi going back to turbo applications for future rs engines, so this car has a special appeal to me as it is the best combo I have ever seen, v8 twin turbo, perfect...

From what I can tell, the RS6 will retain its appeal....It is natural that other cars will surpass it eventually, but I think it is one of those cars that will still be considered a great car.

From what I know there are no 'new' rs6...i just did a search on edmunds...seems like prices go from 77k to 59k

ABAcab what do you think?
I am thinking of trading the o5 S4 in for a 03 Rs6 or e 55 next year sometime.
I love the v8 s4, but I just cannot get over forced induction apps, and although the v8 is meaty I need that acceleration that can dazzle,
does that make sense?
The v8 is quick, especially after milltek downpipes, but it just doesnt feel as fast as a turbo charged engine..

BUt whithout twisting the post the wrong way, abacab what do you think, the supercharged e55 or the RS6???

Well, you are talking about two really fine cars...

I think the e55 is rated at 469bhp and like 515 torque...4.5 0-60...I think the rs6 is 450bhp, don't know the torque..and something like 4.6 0-60....

all that being said...I think that Audi does a better job on interior, fit and finish than MB. I have never been in an e55, but I drove a c32, which was really nice...but I would take an s4 or the c32 anytime.

I guess it also depends on your preference for rwd vs awd. I live in the north east, and need a car that will get me to the slopes, so no brainer, awd...

And I think that the rs6 has a bit more wow factor than the e55...

but that may be just my opinion...

The Audi beats out MB by far on interior. I wouldn't buy a mercedes. I have a couple friends that have them and they are in the shop an awful lot. Your just paying for the emblem and not the true quality. The RS6 is an awesome vehicle. I would stick with the Audi if you are wanting more comfort and style.

Like Jenny, I wonder how much the value of the 03 RS6s are going to drop after the new version comes out(2007? or end of 06?). I guess one can't think about things like that and just has to jump.

I'm thinking that the scarcity should always help the value some. If only 850-1000 made it into the US and some of those are crashed now - then that's a pretty low number.

ABacab I love your responses and by the way what is that picture? A prince concert or something?

The Rs6 definately does have more of a wow factor.
INterestingly the thing that bothers me most about the E55 is the huge clock they have in the tach display area, left of the tach, I think thats ugly- yes I know its 4 30 pm..

I'm going to guess - Genesis concert.

I think the RS6 has a big wow factor too. It is also very stealthy for a 450hp TwinTurbo. Only Audi fans have any idea about this beast. I still haven't driven one yet, but I am looking for a deal. If I find a good one, then I will go drive the one at local dealership to check it out. It is silver and I think I want black - or the darker charcoal color that the RS6 comes in anyway.

Jenny-glad you like the posts...
pturbo....yep that is an old genesis concert.

I know that silver is the classic audi color...but I like black or grey better as well.

Personally the reason I like this 2003 rs6 so much is it seems all the new audis are hideous

I think the b7 front grille is absolutely hideous, yes they have nice bodies and insides
but what is a nice body with a hideous face
for example
hideous

maybe just me, but that grille is just too big, or at least make that band in the middle the same color as the body..

and the new bmws are hideous too in my opinion
hideous..

Almost spit out my coffee reading this at the office....and I agree!! They took all the worst style elements from the Z serious...(a seriously butt ugly car) and decided that they would propagate them across the rest of the line. I love the E46 body style, but the E90 is.....what is the word.....HIDEOUS

I agree. I love Audis but I can't stand the new front end. Why do they always have to change things? If it aint broke, don't fix it. I'll keep with the last body style. It will be good looking for years to come.

Hi abacab, you're giving very good advice, I agree.

The RS6 is easy to chip and mod if you want, and who wouldn't. I don't know about the E55. I do know that the E55 has one hell of a "nanny" in it's management system and I'm not sure if you can bypass it or not. I don't think you can.

or

Either way you are in the high 11s in what looks like (almost) a stock A6 4.2. (I saw one debadged on the freeway once and I had to look twice to figure out what it was.)

I love the RS6 over the E55 in just about every way.
I'm also considering the trade-up.
I like the ebony pearl or daytona gray pearl.

What do you think?

I like the daytona grey with the dark interior. Now I just need to get my cash flow situation where I want it and make the move. I've got a cousin that is a car dealer. I'm going to have him place the call for me and see if dealers can get a better deal from other dealers. One would think so, but on an RS6 - I don't know. Anything is better than thinking that I paid full price. I could wait for one to pop up in a dealer auction, but it seems unlikely that I would get the color combo that I want in such a rare car - without waiting forever that is.

Very nice!

I see that it's at the same dealer where I got my S4.

There are a few RS6's a little lower in price.

I saw a Daytona Gray Pearl for about $60,000.00 with 30,000 miles on it. With the Silver interior and Audi Certified extended warranty.
I think if you can get one for about $55,000.00 and around 30,000 miles, buy it.

Just checked AutoTrader...25 RS6's listed...$77k to $15K...but really there are only 2 at $15k and I dont think you can trust those.
All the other RS6's are between $77k and $55K. I emailed one of the listing parties at $15k to find out if the car was legit. Waiting for an answer.

I found the ones your talking about Abacab.
Looks shady!

I called the phone numbers, and didnt get any answer

How interesting though. I bought a salvage title NSX once for 20,000
and it was a good enough car...but the descriptions the guy gave about the cars raises my warning sensor

Im sure you know what I mean, but please tell me what happens.

They have not answered....I don't think they are going to... Strange that they would put in such a glowing description of the cars, when anyone that knows anything about cars would know that they were so underpriced that something was up.

I saw a silver RS6 today.....man it looked sooooo sweet!
I also saw a red NSX today...dont see too many of those here in ny. I really liked the styling on those when they came out, but they look a bit dated today.

I saw these a while ago. Some say that the NSX is gone for good. Others say that Acura is bringing it back.

Pturbo...where did you see that car...looks pretty interesting.

I think Honda/Acura will come up with another car in the NSX+ category. Honda continues to be very active in motor sport and I think they need a flagship sports car to go with that image. Might be a couple of years...can't wait to see what they come up with.

I got an email response from the guy selling the RS6 for $15K. Sounds shady. Says he has the car in England, can't drive it there because it is a US spec car, needs money cause he is about to lose his house, must pay of mortgage. Needs money fast so the price is that low. Will ship to the US.

I think this has a very high probablity of being a scam...at least in my view.

Yep. That sounds like a scam.

I can't remember the site where I got the NSX picts from. I'll try to find it again. I do remember that the picts are fairly old because I saw them posted on a site over a year ago. Still no word from Acura on whether they are moving forward with this or not.

You can google nsx concept and find more sites, but they all have pretty much the same picts as the ones I posted here.

Yeah, the form of that scam I've seen most frequently is that the "seller" will offer to ship it to the US, but he needs cash and can't afford to ship it, so you've got to wire him about $5k-$7 to ship it. You'll do it because, hey, even with the $5k shipping, you're still getting a big-$$ car for around $20k, a bargain at twice the price. You wire him your $5k and the car never gets here. Surprise, surprise.

Yeah even someone in a desperate situation could sell an RS6 for double that price and it would sell in a second.
