Default Noisy 1999 Audi A6

Hello

I recently bought a 1999 Audi A6 and it seems noisy. It is a lot more noisy than my wife's sonata. I hear the engine but not so much external environment noises. Is it normal or an indication of something wrong? The question may seems bizarre but I was surprised that the Audi is a lot more noisy than a sonata. This is why i wonder if it is normal.

Cheers
Didier

these cars are generally pretty quiet on the inside (i'm on my second one). had it been in a wreck that you know of? if so then that sound can find its way in through the ablsolute smallest of cracks, if the car wasn't put back together with percision.

After examining more the car it seems that the noise is coming more from the back than from the front. At first I thought it's the muffler and went to Mr muffler for an examination of it. They said the muffler is OK. I am puzzled. The sound is a low frequency sound like a sound coming out of an out of order muffler. They said (the guys at Mr Muffler) that there is no perforations but the muffler seems noisy. It seems that the muffler is OE.
