Default Oil Change

Hi Guys,

How often do you think I need to change the oil for the A6 Audi 2002.

Thanks,

Depends. How hard do you drive? Are you using synthetic or dino oil?

Audi recommends two a year, but theyre smoking crack. Especially with a turbo engine running dino oil. With sythetic oil id maybe stretch it to 5k miles. I never recommend going more than 3k on a turbo motor even with synthetic oil. Look at it this way thou, if your motor blows at 70k who pays for it.

book says,
cold climate use 5w/30 semi synthetic.

moderate climate use 15w/40 - 10w40 semi
long life full synthetic 0w/30 VW spec 503.00/503.01.

hot climate 20w/40 semi.

oil classification AP/ACEA: SG/A2-96

a bit of over kill personally, min 6,000 to 10,000 on normal semi, double that on full synthetic 0w/30 that's why they call it long life
