How exactly does the RS4 start button work ?
ok i maybe somebody here can help me with this
how does the start button work in a RS4 i mean its obvious the car has to be in neutral before you can start it what about keys ? i assume there is no more key involved so its bassicly a remote to unlock the car hop in and push the button to start |
RE: How exactly does the RS4 start button work ?
I have no info on this yet
But i assume its the same way as the A8 and A6 The car recognizes the key by means of an antenna Sends info to a module, sends info to another module, actuates the starter, waits for a engine speed signal, disingages the starter This is all done via can-bus network very cool stuff |
RE: How exactly does the RS4 start button work ?
ya but some cars u have to put the key in, some u can just hold it and use the push start. i think the RS4 u have to put the key in and push the push start. guess we have ot wait and c i guess

We need to have finger print and/or remote DNA scanning so no key is required. Just hop in, press the button (maybe a start button/thumbscanner combo?) and drive off!
That would be some cool stuff right there! |

RE: How exactly does the RS4 start button work ?
I was thinking of putting a small scaner into my car, so that the access would be initialized by a tumb scan, then small 9in monitor would flot from the under the dush and computer would say,
car: Welcome Back Yuri, I missed You. Should I start the engine? me: yes. car: start up list OK, initializing main drive. Main drive is active. avaiting further commant. me: car, activate radio. car: radio active. me: louder. me: car, activate cruise. car: cruise active. me: car, cruise, follow mode, limit warp 6. hehe, and I have no problem making one. with sexy female voice. ;) I already made control module from computer to car. justy have to make minny computer. here is a robbery. thift: where da hell is the ignition. car: thift detected, lock up initiated, tazer on stun. thift: ahhhhhh.:( car: GPS online, downoading data, calling 911. 911: what i sthe emergence? car: this is automated system, owner -- - - - - - - - -, theft aprehended, address -- - - - - - - -, send out police unit, call the owner, tel - - - - - - - - -, repeat - - - - - - - -. car: dialing owner. me: this is Red DeVil, theft has been detected in the car, theft is aprehended, 911 has been called. police: car is locked. me: Red Devil overide lock up, password alfa, beta, yuri, omega, four. car: voice command recognised, loock up deactivated. police: take him into coustody, you have right to remaine silent, anything you say......... can do that too. well taser I might have to buy. :D |

RE: How exactly does the RS4 start button work ?
the only thing keeping me out of the market is that I rally didn't decide what language to use for programing. C++ or Visual Basic. and I havent desided to use single program or to seperate into modules.
single VS modules. if I use single then I will have to make fail safe systems all around. but it is much simplier. BUT if I use modules I wont have to make so many fail safe systems around. but more complex, and Its a bit more complicated. Visual Basic VS C++ Visual basic is a simple language, but hard on the ports, easy graphics, single easy, modules hard, moderet to sync. BUT C++ moderet language, easy on portrs, hard graphics, single and modules easy, easy to sync. well you might add something to it, ut I will have to make it up. as of now, consider the adaptor from PC to Engine done, and functioning. input is a bit slugish but will fix it. |
