Hello all,

I'm new to this group and hope that you can possibly help me make a decision on a used A6. I'm interested in purchasing a 2002 or 2003 A6 quattro. I currently own a 2003 Passat and like it. However, a little more room with more features would be nice. I've ruled out the 3.0 engine as a possibility. A friend who owns one claims her's is underpowered. So, my question is, what would be the more appropriate engine? Does the 2.7 biturbo have more problems or costs than the 4.2 engine (other than mpg differences)? I'm sure there are pro's and con's for each engine, I just don't know much about them and I hope that some of you can point me in the right direction.

Thank you,

Joe

Turbo motors are trouble because more can break.

The V8 is good if you aren't looking to mod. The V6 is a good modable motor, if you really want a fun car, get an S4

The 3.0 might be "underpowered" but its the most reliable motor audi's put out in a long time. The v8 is a close second as far as reliablity is concerned but there are pretty much no mods for it.
