I can't help you but it sounds like total BS. They probably don't know how to work on them? I would call Kenwood and ask them if it is possible. They would know for sure.

i just got off the phone with BestBuy and Ultimate Electronics and they said they can't find a harness to fit my car. and that since i have the bose symphonyII h/u i would have to replace all the speakers and rewire the car for aftermarket speakers also.

That sounds correct about having to install new speakers with a ne H/U. Bose is really spiffy about only being able to use there equipment with there equipment. Plus, for the money that Bose costs you can get something better for the same price. I know that it is going to cost a pretty penny, but look into focals for the speakers. Hope I could help.

u dont need a harness to put in the new head unit. You need to cut it into the the harness that goes into the new unit. The way to put in new speakers from what i heard is that you have to cut out the bose amp and run new wires to the head unit or a new amp that u put in. THis is what i have heard about audi's, i havent done any of that to my car yet. Thought i would post this because it might help you.

It can be done, but will require a lot of work. Go to Crutchfield.com for information. You can call them, too. The cool thing about buying from them is you will get installation instructions for free when you buy from them.

This is just a thought, but what if you tapped into the line in from the deck to the bose amp, wired it to the pre-amp out from the new head unit? I'm not sure of the voltages of the bose lineout to the bose amp, but if it's near 3v, you could easily do it. you wouldn't get much better sound quality as you'd still be using hte bose amp to power the speakers.

Ok so stupid newb question I guess. Symphony II automatically means it is bose? Then there is a harness that lets you use rca out from the new HU to the bose amp... Metra part # 70-1787
