Default Hello, window issues

Hello, I have got two audi's both quatro 5000cs. I to say the least will now be visiting these forums frequently hehehe. BUt on to business.. I went through the forums and found a post about a window that would go down but not up unless the key was used. In it somebody said that if it will go down but not up you need a complete register... I think that is what he called it.. Anyway I took the door appart and could not find a simple answer to why the window would fall down and not roll up.. the window goes down via motor but not back up, motor etc works fine.. I noticed a small black "holder" on the cable that I am presuming tabs onto what holds the window.. I tried to take out the mechanism but only got the rail loose but it wouldn't disconnect from the window. I have the bradly manual but it is of no use telling me how to disassemble it... suggestions? Will be checking hourly HEHEHE

Default RE: Hello, window issues

if it goes down via the switch then the switch has to be the problem,

to remove the mechanism the window has to be detached from the guide by 2 bolts and the mechanism rivets will probably need drilling out

The motor goes up and down so does the cable, but it only "pulls" the window down and not up... btw thanks for the reply
