Default im stuck in 3rd gear! help me please!

i was installing an amp and box in my trunk so i disconnected the battery. after i plugged it back in and finished off the installation,im stuck in 2nd or 3rd gear. im not sure witch one exactly. anyway does anyone know what might be causing this? is there a way i can reset the cpu or something ? thanks for your help

dont do that get a used one. first take it to a tranny shop and have them look at it

ok...just got back from aamco they told me its electrical and that i have to buy a new computer for the transmission. wtf? 1,$800 at the damn dealer!!!!
anyone have a good source for used parts? thanks in advance

yo uahve an A6 right? look on ebay. it might take a while but i gauruntee it will be cheaper than the others

hi all!

ok... after taking it to 5 diffrent shops they all found that my transmmision was completely fine and that if i find some one to reprogram my computer that would fix the problem in 15 minutes. sooo.....please does anyone know somewhere in the los angeles area i can get this done?

I've never heard of reprogramming the computer. Your problem is the tranny is in "Limp Mode". You need to find someone who has a Vag-Com to scan the car for faults. Once the fault is corrected or deamed to be a fluke you can reset the code and the car will behave as expected.
