I have a 2000 A6 with the factory symphony head unit. I found this product (http://www.discountcarstereo.com/detail.aspx?ID=643)on the web that will interface an I pod with any 98-2004 VW/Audi head unit using the 8 pin plug in the back of the head unit.

I was wondering if any one knew if this would work with my head unit or even work at all.

ICE IPod link seems to be a popular product for audi's.
