Default What kind of oil?????????????

Hey fellas! I'm new to the Turbo thing but I am about to do an oil change on the A6 2.7 BiTurbo. Should I use synthetic???? My dealer just did it yesterday but they put in regular ol' Castrol 10w40??????????? I didn't think that was right but that is what they have always done.........so he says. Anyway, I insisted they put synthetic in there. Is that a waste of money? They are doing it again next week to put synthetic in but I won't bother unless it will hurt the engine. The car btw is a 2001.

the next oil change go synthetic, use a mann filter, not bosch.
just remember once you use synthetic u cant go back to regular oil. if u need to add a bit it must be synth.

mobil 1 is a good brand that is available all over.

Thats not true at all. The two are completly compatible.

In the turbo motor i would highly recommend sythetic especially with the 5 and 10k mile services theyre going to, eventhou audi recommends regular. It cant hurt to change the oil to early.

Thanks guys! I am have taken it back to the Audi dealer and they apologized for the mix up! They told me they only use Syn in turbo models and you should have seen his face when I said....."My Audi is a turbo.......A TWIN TURBO!!!!!!!" heheheheheheh He did not know what to say then. I hope nothing bad happens now cuz of their mix up. [:@]

yes, its not recomended. but both conventional and syntetic oil are compateble, the oils would have advert effect on its effectivnece. In other words, person with type B blood cannot use Type A blood :-( but there is a safe way to change without woring about damage, it is to switch between con and syn with syn blend.
The popularity of Mobil1 is not just becouse its a big company but becose Mobil1 can hold longer and does not get damaged that much. In other words you put 10W40 oil and you pure out 10W40 after use. while like castrol you put 10W40 and pure out 10W30 :-|.

There is much more but thats short.
