Default Check Engine light

My check engine light came on recently while driving to Las Vegas. from Southern California. The car ran fine with no problems. Can you check the fault codes without using a hend held code reader. Also can you reset the check engine light yourself.[:'(]

A few places like autozone and places like that have hand held obd2 readers, and they check for free.

Make sure you write down the code and bring it back to us. I should be able to help you based on your code.
