I know NOTHING about cars I am tight-fisted I want a car but don't want the hassle of looking for one I have been offered an audi 900s 16 valve turbo, J reg (1991), for ~£50 (~$30)
full service history, looks a bit crap but is perfectly fine working order, one month road tax and MOT, current owner says it runs fine but will probably need ~£300 spend on MOT renewal to fix "cv valves" or some such (to do with steering I think), I haven't seen the car (yet), current owner no longer insured to drive it, says there is a wee bit of rust etc but nothing nasty, alloy wheels, elec windows, sunroof.
question is, do I buy it? I'm guessing my insurance cost will be pretty high as I'm 24 with no previous insurance history will it be worth the cost of MOTing, taxing etc? does anyone know what the bloody thing looks like? have failed to find pics on google or a couple of audi sites of anything resembling this model
he wants it gone by the weekend, will be scrapping it otherwise. remember I will need to get insurance before I can even take it home, let alone spend the cash to fix it up.....

Sounds like a SAAB. A good comfortable daily driver and if it is a hatchback (combi???) it is very good for hauling things. Once you fold the back seats you can even sleep in one. I hauled a lot of stuff with my 1978 99EMS. Go to http://www.saabnet.com/ for more information.
finally what ru smokin Ive got 4 SAAB 900 turbos these are quirky little cars but they sure have alot of things going for them as long as YOU DO ALL THE WORK ON IT YOURSELF! My first car was an 1981 900 turbo 8v CIS injection which my father bought brand new . It's got 596,000 miles on the original engine on it now however its on its 4th transmission , 3rd Turbo , 5th waterpump , 2nd alternator and all its had was an oil pump and timing chain!! THE MARVELS of SYNTHETIC oil!!
