Mod Help
First of I have been reading through the forum and am currently a bit confused. Coming from South Africa the model number of my Audi is a 500 SEL and I would like to know what other model number the Audi was branded in other countries.
The basic Spec of the 500SEL is:
2.8L, V6, 12valve, A/T,
model year: 95,
ABS, no air bags,
body type: 4A
Secondly, The engine recently became very sick and I was wondering if any one has successfully transplanted a different Audi/VW engine into the engine bay and matted it to the gearbox?
Or has someone transplanted the engine and gearbox of another Audi/VW model into the Audi? I would like to keep the it A/T.
I have to go this route as the Audi is currently sitting basicly without an engine. Reconditioning the engine is more expensive than buying a recon motor. A new crank and fitting will be more than fitting a new mechanical 1.9TDI VW engine.
With all the sentiment I would want to keep her.
