Default 2001 A6, 2.8 Quattro...

Hello i own a 2001 A6, 2.8 Quattro and purchased brand new, it now has around 105,000 miles on it and i had oil changes every 3000-4000 miles full synthetic but haven't done anything else to the car. Will i need to replace the timing belt, water pump and what else should be done as preventative maintanance? What about tranny fluid?

I also have this annoying click by the cup holder inside the dash (not the cupholder in between the front two seats) and it only happens when i use the turn signal. It sounds like the turn signal click but after the turn signal is shut off the noise keeps clicking as if the turn signal is still on? What gives? Any ideas what it is?

I do read these boards quite a bit and are very informative.

Thank you,

John

Don't know about that dash click, but get ur timing belt done ASAP. You're overdue.

Manual says timing belt replacement is due at 120,000 miles.

Unless Audi is paying for your new engine if it breaks before 120K, I would seriously consider doing it sooner. Some have reportedly gone as soon as 80K.

If this is bad advice, others will speak up soon enough.

As to the clicking noise, appears somebody else may have the same problem.......

Find a good indie audi shop and have the timing belt done. The tranny service is about $200, but worth every penny. Make sure they use the synth tranny fluid.
