Default New A6 recall

There is a new recall for the older A6. It is to replace the throttle body again. It dose not apply to all of them, only the 2.8L in the "cold wether zones" All it dose is replace the old one with a updated throttle body with a internall engine coolent line. It is to make shure that the throttle flap dose not stick. From what i heard some one in some far off place almost had this problem. But since Audi is anal retentive, there is now a recall. Just to let you know.

Car makers dont issue recalls for onetime problems they have a general rule about cost VS. liability.

Wait a minute, they would have to replace the intake manifold if they wanted to run coolent through the throttle body. What is your source for this recall?

Yes Slim the problem proly has come up a few times. Audi not THAT bad. Jestnomen, I am a tech for a dealer, and have done about 4 JB recalls on the 2.8 a6's. There is a hard pipe coolent line that runs under the throttle body, it has two nipples that you take the old hose off that used to run snug with the t/b to heat it, but now when you replace the t/b with the new one there are ports in the bottem of it that you connect them to. nothing big. takes about a 1 1/2 hour.

Recalls are overrated. Just keep drivin and ignore the problem.....that usually seems to work pretty well, but for some reason the cars don't last as long.....hmmmmm.......oh well [8D]
