Default First time caller

Hey everyone. Glad I found this site...

I have a 1998 A6 that I have owned for a year. What a great car. I am in love with it!!!! I bought it with about 58K miles and now have 70K.

Unfortunately, it overheated (thermostat) the other day and died on road, smoked, had to get towed.

Getting it fixed from a reputable shop, gonna finally get the 60K service done, get new brakes, and some recall work done. Should be running like a new car. Total work is gonna cost about $2200 bucks. Warranty will cover more than half of it.

Thank god I purchased an extended warranty. I have some questions though~?

1. Does anyone have the BOM/Checklist for the 60k service?
2. My transmission in the automatic mode seems to slip when going from second to third gear (feels like I am getting rear ended) but when I drive in TIPTRONIC it is smooth and fine!? Anybody know what that is all about? Mechanic says he will look at it and get it fixed. If transmission needs overhaul it is on the warranty (WHEW) but just curious.

Thanks for the answers ahead of time!!!!

Cliff
