AUDI 80/90 TRANSMISSION
 

I BOUGHT A 1990 AUDI 80 WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION THE WIERD PART IS IT WONT SHIFT IN TO SECOND GEAR UNTIL IT HAS WARMED UP FOR LIKE A HALF ON HOUR BUT AFTER THAT IT WILL ONLY SHIFT IN TO SECOND. IF ITS SOME SORT OF TRANSMISSION PROBLEM, I WOULD THINK IT WOULDN'T DEPEND ON THE HEAT GAUGE. PLEASE GIVE ME AN IDEA OF WHAT IT COULD BE?

Buddy to simply put it any audi 80/90/ and im sure even the 100 models have a crap load of problems with their automatic transmissions, the manual tranny's will run forever but the automatics die out for ome reason, your opions are either rebuild the tranny get a new tranny and if you really like the 80/90 series like i do get one thats a 5 speed.

A possibility is a manual conversion. I believe they still have the process on www.audiconnection.com. It was step by step with pictures last time I saw.
