I'm thinking of buying a 1993 audi 100 cs for my first car. I'm 18 and i had a little test drive. The car has 120 k miles but it rides really smooth. Everything in car is working and it seems to run fine. However, i would like to know more about the car before i make my purchase.

How is the mileage? (preferrably in km/l)

Are parts expensive? (i live in Canada)

Anything i should be looking out for?

Thanks for the help

I'm getting around 11MPG in 100% city and lots of stop and go.
yep imports, parts are a bit pricy but in long run it be cheaper that some other imports and I wond point fingers.
ye check out 12v.com there is a list of check points. if the heater core was not changed then it migh fail. also timing belt if fails then say good byu to the valves.

I bought a 1993 100 CS quattro about 2 months ago. Its V6 automatic w/ 160K miles. I had to replace the thermostat rightaway as it had gone bad. I'm also doing all the maintenance that I know. Parts are a bit more expensive at the local auto store if you can do the work yourself. But if you take it to a shop, it'll be very expensive. I get 20 MPG for combination of city and highway and the car requires premium gas. It is a very heavy car and it doesn't have good acceleration but yes it is very smooth. The car is also very big and feels big. I would not recommend it for a first car unless your paying dirt cheap for it.
