Default Amps are in!

Friends,
Here is the last portion of my install in my S4 to share with you. I've mounted the amplifiers and 5F cap. on 5/8" spacers, using #10 allen head screws 1.75" long into T-nuts on 3/4" MDF.

There's (4) 12" cold cathode red light tubes under the perimeter of the (2) Zapco amplifiers, and (2) 4" round red cold cathode light rings under the 5F cap. On the backside are (2) 4" fans blowing air from the trunk onto the backside of the amplifiers heatsinks. Remember they're "floating", and the amplifiers have internal fans as well.

I've used 0ga power cable to the trunk, where it's divided into (2) 4ga cables into the 5F cap. A single 4ga wire comes out of the cap and into the fuse distro, then 4ga to the amps. One of the 4ga ground is connected to the chassis, and the cap. The (2) other 4ga ground connections go to each amp. The lower amplifier is a Zapco DC 1000.4 driving the tweeters and 6.5" midbass'. The top amplifier is a DC 750, bridged to the subs. The DRC controller is mounted up front, and controls the DSP functions of each amplifier via phone cord connection.

The trim is made out of 3/4" MDF as well, wrapped in vinyl, with a 3/8" Lexan window. I've painted the outter 1/2" black to hide the seam of the MDF/vinyl. Feel free to ask any questions!

Cheers,
Matt

Hey, Zapco's! Way to use a high quality amplifier! I love Zapco's. When I was into car audio, I used Zapco amps and then switched to Matt's amps which don't get a whole lot of repsect. Nice install!

Thanks for the compliments! I'm taking my car this week from Colorado to Daytona, FL for the IASCA Spring Break Nationals. Hopefully things will go really well![sm=gears.gif]
