The extended manufacturer's warrant is best, but if you get an aftermarket make sure it covers the important components of your car. I bought one for my wife's car that covers the powertrain. The bi-turbo went out and wasn't covered by the warranty because the turbos are part of the exhaust! If you're looking at a 2.7T MAKE SURE any warranty you look at covers the turbo and the exhaust. It's about $6000 to replace the stock turbos.
