RE: 2004 A8 Navigation/GPS Problems

I've had mine for 7 days. The only problem I've run into is that one time the computer just shut down on it's own while I was on the freeway. Re-booted itself in about 10 seconds and all was fine. The computer failure did not affect the car in any way, the radio did not even turn off.

I will keep you all posted though. If anything changes I will bitch a lot.

Very strange post for a new member. Joined: 8/26/2003 Posted: 8/26/2003 6:05:05 PM Strange formatting, too.

One year later and no follow up post. Hmmmmm....

RE: 2004 A8 Navigation/GPS Problems

It happens to the best of cars...I own both a 745i and a AC Snitchzer 760li and have had a few problems with the electronic starter on the 745 and have had the mini fidge in the 760 almost freeze stuff and then thaw it back out...
I have had very good luck with the navigation and sound system and other controls on the BMW 7 series...and personally just liked the driveability of the BMW a bit more than the A8. I'll tell you what though...make sure the dealer gives you the most recent dvds for the navigation system....makes a wolrd of a difference...
