Just worried a bit about the (relatively) low torque the engine makes.. I mean damn, the Lexus IS350 *almost* makes as much torque.

That's why I'm curious what the M3 will make... Hopefully more torque.

Anyone drive a low torque, high HP car. What is it like?

Less forgiving, more rewarding. Most track cars are set up like this. You need to be aware of the motor's powerband, use the gearbox more, plan your moves a little more ahead of the car.

i have to agree, i can't say i can take anyone off the line. one, i like my transmition and axles and want to keep them for a while and i also suck at dead starts. i drive an 06 avant and can personally say i dont see anything impressive from takeoff to 20 or 30. once this car is in moion is a different story. i drive country back road and hitting some of the bends at the speeds i can in this car always impresses with a great feel for the road without being too dramatic. and when the traffic is down, i hit the autobahn and floor it to red line in every gear and it only stops really accelerating at around 135-140 but still steadily climbs to 165 before it actuallly limits itself and sits around 6500 rpm. all while being really quiet for the speeds, no road noise to mention (depending on the seasonal and/or make of tire) and still delivering the same quality the "competition" has to offer. the nav, the 4 gig of sd card music to choose from, the 6 disk cd changer if the 2 sd card slots aren't enough, all leather, all heated seats, bi xenon adaptive lights.... the list goes on. and i recently put MTM 19" bimoto wheels under it and ride comfort is still fantastic. even though the torque is lower than hp, it's in the 300 catagory; absolutely nothing to scoff at.
