Well this dealership sucks! Put a scratched up wheel in my spare tire compartment after I paid $2K for 19's Had some idiot try to buff out the lot/shipping scratches with a freaking wool pad and gave me hilacious swirl marks. Wrote the wrong contract for my Autoguard, and they did not even fill my tank all the way up. Sales guy was cool but service department and over all dealership sucks!

I had somewhat of a similiar experience at McDonald. I has just came back from Iraq and was crashin' at my moms crib in the D. Now mind you I've been set on buying an A4 for almost 6 months. I go down there to test drive one and some German dudes like you have to make an appointment and basically treated me like crap. I was wearing some jeans and t shirt. I'm 33 but look hella young so I think he was like who the hell is this. I was so pissed. I spent the next month looking at other cars and was very close to getting an Acura TL because of that mess. Who ever heard such a thing. Appointment for a test drive. Get real!!! I'd been to OK, TX and Colorado Springs and those jokers were more than happy to let me test drive one. Luckily, Phil Long, back home in the Springs was real cool and patient so I ended up getting the A4 from them. The sales guy at Phil Long was Bill Urwin he was real cool. I would also say I am glad I didn't get the Acura, in retrospect a month after the voice act and nav wore off I would have been bored. Don't let the experience discourage you, Audi has a great product.
Audi does have great product and I am enjoying the A8L tremendously! I will never ever buy from McDonald automotive again. I will use Prestige Imports in Denver. They are the 8th out of 274 reviewed Audi dealers and 14th out of all 636 Audi/VW dealers. Let's compare: McDonald is 262 out of 274 reviewed Audi dealers and 619th out of all Audi/VW dealers. They truly do suck!

I jsut want to say thanks to both you for the info. I am returning to Denver next week and was looking at picking up a certified used Audi TT. Was going to stop at McDonald on Monday, but I think I will just skip it now and head on over to to Phil Long to see what they can set me up with. Anyway, thanks again for the great info!
Darn! I just bought from McDonald. I was over at Prestige first and spoke with Mike Pearson. He seemed very nice but not that willing to deal. I went over to McDonald and they beat it by maybe $1500. They seem to be a little shady though compared to Prestige. I am in the market for an A3 next and maybe I will go to Prestige.
LOL I spoke with the Mike P guy at Prestige as well, however ended up buying a 2003 from a place called Sport Cars in Commerce City. Sounds shady I know, but got a pretty sweet deal and no complaints so far.
Do you guys think its worth getting an extended warranty from any of the local dealerships? I know 3rd party warranty places SUCK, but will Prestige even offer one if it is over 50k?
Hmmm... don't know about the warranty. You mean when you buy it? Most magazines I read say it is not worth it. There are too many exclusions and some companies have gone out of business so you are screwed and lose the money you paid for it.
I did go back to McDonald a couple of weekends ago to test drive A3s. Drove the 2.0T and the 3.2 version. I liked the zippiness of the 2.0T model so that's what I am getting. The prices at McDonald were SO high compared to what I am seeing on Autotrader.com and ebay.

I've been in the market for a new '08 A3 3.2, and though in the end I chose not to go with McDonald they did give me the lowest bid on my first go-around. I wanted a new '08 A3 3.2 with no options (invoice $33,187; MSRP $35,690, all including the $775 destination charge).
I requested bids from all six Colorado dealers. Here is how they replied:
Elk Mountain Motors: No response; sent follow-up, but still no response
Phil Long Audi: No response; sent follow-up, but still no response
Stammler Imports: $35,200 ("free" iPod adapter, Chris Root)
Prestige Imports: $34,075 (Dave McManus)*
* McManus asked me what I thought was a fair price, so I told him he had to beat $34,076.50. So he responded with a bid $1.50 lower.
I signed with Prestige earlier this afternoon, but who knows whether they'll still try to screw me once the vehicle arrives on their lot and they have the urge to rust-proof it for "only" $2,000. Or whatever.
Anyway, though I never set foot in McDonald, and though I've never had a car repaired there, and though they have 12 complaints filed in the last three years with the Better Business Bureau (Prestige has 3; Ed Carroll has 3; and Stammler has only 1) , they did come in with the lowest bid in response to my emails. That's something, right?

I also had a lousy experience a few years ago with McDonald. They tried to soak me for 500 bucks on my lease return. I refused to pay and protested. I take excellent care of my vehicles. Corporate finally agreed with me and also gave me my deposit back after inspecting the car and finding that NOT ONE thing listed by McDonald as user damge was damaged at all.. I swore I would never return to McDonald and I haven't even though I live near by. Last month I found a certified 2002 TT roadster at PRESTIGE Imports in Lakewood, CO. I got a sweet deal and was treated very well. And there you have it. I bought this one...
Has anyone ever dealt with The Import Warehouse on Broadway? I'm looking for pre-owned A4 and they seem to have a few. I know they aren't a franchised dealer, but the seem to have some clean cars?
hmmmm, never heard of them. I made the mistake of going to one of these "brokers" and getting a warranty, under the understanding that you could cancel it at anytime. Then after having work done that wasn't covered (suprise suprise) I tried to cancel....at signing, the dealership printed a very light shade of ink that said "non-cancelable"...never even saw it....I got f-ed! Anyway, my advice would be to find a "certified used" at the dealership (Prestige first, then McDondald). It may be a few thousand more than other used cars, but you'll save money in the end-
Follow-up after owning the A4 purchased from McDonald Audi for 1 year.
I bought my 2007 Audi A4 Avant Quattro from McDonald Audi and it was just an aweful experience. I asked the salesman if the body style is changing for 2008. He tells me no it is not and will not for at least 3 years. Wow, what a change from 2007 to 2008. I would have waited a few months.
I also purchased Audi Care for an additional $590. Well guess what, they had an online coupon for free Audi Care if you buy your car and the salesman nor the finance guy offer that to me. I even called them after going home to see if they would honor it and they said no, sorry the deal is done.
I also own a 2006 Audi A3. Both cars have Audi care on it. I do not put that many miles on the cars because I telecommute 3 days a week and live close to work. They refuse to change the oil until it has hit 5,000 - 15,000 and 25,000 miles. My A3 has 21,000 miles and they want to charge me although it has been a year now.
They also make it very difficult to get your car serviced. I have never been provided with a loaner because they are "out". They have even promised me a free rental car because I complained. After having everything lined up for my next service, they did not have a car for me but offered to call a rental car company to come pick me up at MY expense. They have only a 7:30 AM shuttle to take you to work but no pick up. How do you get your car back? A cab?
Any Nissan or Honda dealership would have free shuttles throughout the day. I wished I would have kept my Nissan Murano.

I'm sorry to hear your having so much trouble with McDonald! I could give you my sob story from their service dept. too. Bottom line....they don't know anything about the type of car they "specialize" in and they are horribly overpriced! I will never...I mean NEVER let my car in their uncapable hands again!
I only allow one place to service my Audi now....Autobahn Premiere Service in Englewood. Great bunch of guys....honest and impecable repair/maintenance. They respond best to email (randy@autobahnpremiereservice.com)
....one quick story.....McDonald had my car for THREE days trying to find a boost leak.....Todd @ Autobahn hopped in my car and had the problem FIXED in five minutes...end of story-
I've come to the conclusion that neither of the Denver area dealers are worth much. Each time is something different, before our CPO warrenty ran out last fall we took the car to 3Zero3 for a checkup, they found 5 items wrong with the car. Took it to Prestige, they fixed one item and could not duplicate the others. Took it to McDonald 4 days later, they fixed the 3 of the 4 remaining items, also found that our rear brakes were almost shot, and pointed a screwup the an outside shop caused when replacing a CV boot. Like others, now that we are out of warrenty I have started going with the Indy shops: AUtobahn, Avalon, 3Zero3, Werner's Mastertek
I went up to McDonald to inquire about getting an A5 or S5. Lets just say the salesman treated me like I was crap. Was I dressed in a way that showed I could pay cash on the spot, No. But don't judge a book by it's cover. So in the end, I'm going down to Phil Long today to order one!
Everything mentioned here seems to sum up the total audi experience. AUDI MAKES A GREAT CAR, BUT ALMOST ALL THEIR DEALERS ARE COMPLETE DOUCHEBAGS AND COULDN"T CARE LESS ABOUT YOU ONCE YOU BUY A CAR.
Where can I find the review ranking list you mentioned?
