Default Sensors, witch ones could affect performance ?

I just had a few problems with my ignition control module, and my temp sensor.
Well I replaced them, not only did the problems go away so did the codes.
But I also noticed, the car seams to run smoother, crisper….
I know the bad temp sensor made the car run at less than normal power.

So the question is, does any know of other sensors that could be getting old,
and effect performance.

Thanks
E

every sensor effects the performance in one way or another and age has nothing to do with it, best advice I can give is "don't fix what isn't broken"

Sigh, not true avant80@2.6. Oxygen sensors decrease efficiency over their life. At about 60k miles it is benificial to replace them. When I replaced my two pre-cat sensors my gas mileage jumped quite a bit.

sorry to say you were over confident, system didn't read any faults so was within parameters so no need to change parts "we wait till they go down" but I understand your logic as a technician only but your fact can be costly if they are wrong and in this case its only a guess

Not always costly. Cheap VW O2 sensors are a great buy. Just because the sensors are "within parameters" doesn't mean they are working at full efficiency. I got over 100 miles extra per tank by changing them, and I had no CEL.

well this dose help me..
it is looking like as i go along with the mods i do, i will try to include replacments of the sensors.
the orignail question, was a result of the mods i have made so far, i have had 2 sensors fail..
and in the hopes of driving my a4 for another 8 years, it sounds like a good idea to keep everything up to date,
sensors included...

thanks
