Default how much does it help

does a suspension drop really help my performence or is it mostly to look cool

yes it does. and No.

if you drop the suspension to deep, you gona hurt the performence.
to get real performence. a little drop required. I usually count by the amout that the CV is tealted. I think real performance is when CV is 0 degrees. of the stick is 90 deg to the wheel.

becouse you load the car time to time, the OEM designed to be a little higher thats the full performence. So you will need to calculate all the variables to get it righgt.

in that case illl leave mine stock it costs alot of $$$$$$ plus i work on road that is half dirt and ive seen what happens when you bottom out a car. ive also been in a car when you go too fast over a railroad Xing but thats a different story
