99a4audi -> RE: the new Rs6 against Forg GT... (5/2/2006 7:10:02 PM)

i dont kno the specs on the new rs6, but im guessing the ford gt would

pturbo -> RE: the new Rs6 against Forg GT... (5/3/2006 12:42:33 AM)

The Ford GT is basically a race car that is street legal and the RS6 is a luxury 4-door sedan meant to compete with Merc 55s and the M5.

Racing is all about weight. Which do you think would win?

T_REV_17 -> RE: the new Rs6 against Forg GT... (5/3/2006 8:14:48 PM)

what audi would match up to a ford Gt?

audilover04 -> RE: the new Rs6 against Forg GT... (5/3/2006 9:27:53 PM)

As pturbo mentioned above Audi = luxury sports sedan. Fort GT = Racecar. No audi, excluding maybe RS6 with monster turbos, will match up with the ford GT.

I would think that the R10 could handle it no problem.

i would win

wow. That is a great looking car.

BadLuckAudi -> RE: the new Rs6 against Forg GT... (5/4/2006 4:49:47 AM)

i dunno the r10 is a racecar too what are its specs compared to the ford gt i think it might be close

AudiTech04 -> RE: the new Rs6 against Forg GT... (5/4/2006 3:51:08 PM)

A race between the GT and the R10 would be far from close

With the R10 completly stomping its A**

nfong2684 -> RE: the new Rs6 against Forg GT... (5/4/2006 5:46:25 PM)

although i have respect for the Ford GT...its basically a race chasis with a glorified mustang gt motor!..hahaha....while audi did the exact opposite and dropped in a Lambo motor into a lux car!....i think ill stick with a nice high revin N/A car that can fit 4 comfortably and u can actually enter the car without having to have 4 feet of space to open the doors and get in!...hahaha...not that i could afford either!...lol

andrewh -> RE: the new Rs6 against Forg GT... (5/5/2006 3:43:16 AM)

or perhaps an Audi Gallardo. What's in a name after all?

The R10 would probably lap the GT within five laps of the start on a formula 1 style race track (and it would use less fuel!) [;)]

a4BRZLowrider -> RE: the new Rs6 against Forg GT... (5/5/2006 9:42:50 PM)

gt 3.3s 0 to 60 third fastest car in production (almost 2 years ago)
and half the hood comes out with the door u can get out and in easy but u dont wanna open that door whenits raining...poor desing

16w/A4 -> RE: the new Rs6 against Forg GT... (5/13/2006 6:25:38 PM)

i think the GT is a 3.8 0-60 and the paganni zonda is faster, same with a bugatti veyron 16.4, a ferrari f40 , probably the f60 enzo too, and the mclaren f1, the r10 would smoke the gt

NardoW12 -> RE: the new Rs6 against Forg GT... (5/18/2006 2:31:09 AM)

maybe the upcoming Audi R8 top power version(rumored to be a bi-turbo V10 or something?) would be pretty close to the ford GT

Hano -> RE: the new Rs6 against Forg GT... (5/18/2006 4:37:16 PM)

you would need a light audi with massive balls to race against the ford gt. there is hardly any stock audi that could match up to make a close race with the ford gt. but mods on a rs4 or rs6 could make it kick some ford a$$.

Hano -> RE: the new Rs6 against Forg GT... (5/18/2006 4:38:18 PM)

but i have to say, i do love the ford gt. it is a beautiful car with amazing power. if i ever get a chance to drive a ford gt, i know it'd be joygasmic!

vnv727 -> RE: the new Rs6 against Forg GT... (5/19/2006 11:24:14 PM)

i love the design of the ford gt40........

andrewh -> RE: the new Rs6 against Forg GT... (5/22/2006 9:48:32 AM)

You would have to be lucky enough to get it on one of its good days. The Ford GT has become a standing joke in the UK TV series Top Gear. One of the hosts, Jeremy Clarkson, has one and it is off the road about 95% of the time. He has taken it on one longish trip but apart from that it is always awating repair. Total disaster!

RX7000 -> RE: the new Rs6 against Forg GT... (5/22/2006 10:22:50 AM)

Jeremy CLarksons Ford GT is always off the road correct.

I reckon the RS6 would be able to keep pace with the Ford GT, it would be a good battle but i would rather the RS6 won

pturbo -> RE: the new Rs6 against Forg GT... (5/24/2006 11:18:32 AM)

Didn't Clarkson complain about the poor gas mileage he got in his Ford? And he is supposed to know a lot about cars?

I'm not here to incite flames but could you guys possibly be any further behind the times? Mr. Clarkson has long since replaced his first GT with another GT, which has given him no problems to date. I'd say that speaks volumes for how much he truly loves the car. Oh, and it's not a joke on Top Gear; it's only a joke to Hammster who refuses to accept the fact that even an American car can beat up on some of the best from Europe.

But back to the original post, there's no contest. The GT would mop the floor with an RS6, although I'd sell my left nut to have either.
