Default A3 Servicing Costs?

Hey all, What does every ones local audi charge for a service, I own a 2004 A3 2.0 tdi sport and the first service is just come up and I was charged £295 and a extra £60 for a brake fluid change at Glasgow Audi? Is that a common price? Seems a little steep to me,
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Mark

Default RE: A3 Servicing Costs?

Don't know if this applies to Audis sold in the UK, but in the US Audi offers free service for the duration of the warranty (4 yrs, 50K miles, whichever comes first). I've heard that Audi will discontinue the free US service program and instead offer routine service for 4yr/50K as a $500 addition to the sale price.

Even if Audi offers no such program in Great Britain, (and assuming my currency conversion from Pounds to Dollars is accurate) $530+ dollars for routine maintenance seems painfully high, as does $108 dollars for changing brake fluid.

The only consolation I can offer is that I once paid $650 for a scheduled 30K mile service for a 3-Series BMW. Shortly thereafter, BMW offered free routine service for 4yr 50K. Mercedes withdrew its free service program in the US not long ago, which will leave BMW as the only German luxury marque in the US offering free service.

Maybe Glasgow isn't your best bet for servicing your A3. Good luck in any event.

I had a US VW TDI and the charges for the service was OUTRAGEOUS! I ended up doing all of the general maintenence myself for about 1/5 of the price and it was very, very easy. It might be worth checking it out. I hate sending you to a different forum but TDICLUB.COM has the BEST expertise on the 2.0TDI that I've seen. Do some searches and you'll find PDF's on all of the service needs.

Good luck, and I wish we had Audi TDI's here, badly.

Cheers!
