Default 2001 A6 Avant blowing fuse #14?

does any one have any ideas about why in the last week my car has blown the #14 fuse 3 times. The cicuit is for the interior lights, reading lights, anti-theft alarm system, and vanity mirrors. After the fuse blows the dash signals that 3 doors are open.

Thanks for any help on figuring out the fuse issue.

#14 doesn't do the alarm/anti theft system it should only cover interior lights, reading lights, vanity mirror lights and electric seat memory so my guess is you have a bad ground on one of the door switches, alarm fuse is on relay plate number 2 #2 and #3 but if the car is arming then there is no problem there

My manual included with the car lists the alarm as being included in this circuit. When the fuse is blown the system does not arm either so I think it is safe to say that the alarm is on this circuit, however you may be right since when the fuse is blown my dash displays 3 doors open (both rear and passenger front) althought they are not. That would also prevent the alarm from arming. I'm at a bit of a loss with the 3 doors showing as open. Maybe there is a single ground for all of these doors?

Thanks for any and all advice.

#14 will have some link to the alarm system because it detects an entry into the cab with the interior light going on while alarm is active but only this way the fuses are on relay plate 2 for the alarm, I still think its a ground problem causing an over load to the fuse you might want to check the interior lights for bad grounds as well as the door switches
