Default New guy with a 02 A4 Quattro

I just wanted to say hi to everyone. I have been reading everyone’s posts for the last 3 days. I read a lot of good info. I traded in my 2001 F-150 for my A4 (Gas killed me), now when I look under the hood now I'm completely lost with a European engine. My Audi is completely stock and I want to get a little better responsiveness when press on the accelerator. Are there any posts that give beginning steps or suggestions on the start of my build up?

Thanks
Cisneros

P.S. $16,000 / 40,000 miles

I'm kind of new too, bought my '02 A4 1.8T in February, but I've been doing some research (can't buy until I pay the car off) and my some of my friends have VW's and go to the show down in Jersey with Audi's and VW's and they suggested getting an exhaust and intake first then getting the chip (either GIAC or APR). I was also thinking of getting the APR exhaust and just a K&N intake. That's all I've heard, anyone got any suggestions about those? Thanks guys.

if your gonna buy an exhaust out of the box go with apr or you can get a custom exhaust done at good muffler shop if you know of one. But if you
want good power to start out with just go with a chip if you have a 1.8t if you got a 6 your kind screwed as far as mods go unless you are willing to drop
5k on a supercharger from pes
