Default 2006 Front Grill License Plate Area Question?

I just picked up an 06' A6 and when I got home I was going thtough my typical routie of removing all of the things that I deem ghey about a car.

I came around the front grill and I wanted to remove my licence plate, I remove the plate which revealed a molded licence plate bracket. I then removed said bracket and exposed some un-sightly area behind the bracket. This lead me to belive that they have interchangeble brackets for different areas (1 plate states vs. 2 plate states, etc.).

So, my question is:

Are my assumptions correct, and if so, does anyone know where I can get a bracket to make my front grill smooth in a appearance.

I want mine to look like this:

But mine looks like this (generally w/o chrome):

Thanks,
Melvin

Here in Georgia, its a one plate state, however I have seen A6's on the local dealership with front plate mounts as well.

Get friendly with your parts guy and look over the parts diagrams with him. I'm sure they won;t have the "no front plate" grill part in stock, but can probably order one for you.

Are you in a 2-plate state, if so, perhaps the local dealership is not permitted to sell you the part that does not include the plate-mounting.
Next time I'm at my dealer I'll ask and post back.

If you are in a 2 plate state, why would you want to take it off, when you need a plate up front anyway. You gonna spend more money to take it off, then have to put it back on......I would just leave it alone. Yea, the car lookstight with it off, but you have to look at the reality of it...you need a plate up front.
