hi thanks and another problem i found slow speed turns at audi A6 4.2 is making a noise like a broken bearing ,wich is not, i have been at dealership and they told me that everything it's in order but i still have that noise i did an aligment and still the same noise somebody told me the tyres are to wide but they are factory specification 255/40/17 anyone experience the same problem? thanks

Does it happens when you're braking?
If so, it could be your brakes...

no . slow turns at low speed with the foot off the brake . the tyres are 255/40/17

I have the same happening / not sure is this is a problem....
I have 205/55R16 (A6 Avant) so not a wide tire. I hear a grinding noise when making sharp turns at slow speed. Mainly when pulling from parking lot.
If you find out anything about this please let me know. I stopped paying attention to it but it can be fixed I would prefer that.

We have a prob w/ the 350Z's regarding tire feathering/cupping, it causes tire "growl" at low speeds, which gets worse over time. Has to do w/ the crappy OEM tires (bridgestone potenzas) b/c they are SO soft, a summer tire rated 40 degrees and over actually. And the factories were having issues w/ proper alignment at delivery. This combination made for uneven tread wear or feathering. The temporary fix was to swap fronts side to side and rears side to side (unidirectional tire) but in order to fix the prob they suggested getting a really good alignment w/ no toe in or out........I opted for a good alignment, and Volk racing wheels w/ toyo proxes T1-S, that fixed it.

So is it actual grinding or loud tire noise???? I would be interested to see if this is something isolated or a problem across the board.

hi thanks for the answer.the tyres are brand new (bridgestone potenza) the alligment was made 3 times in one week all CV joint/boot are new and the tires "growl" like you said my mechanic told me that 99% are the tires. well i will change them i guess .what do you recommand?thanks

oh and also the tires make some noise like a growling too at 70 mph and only exactly at that speed. wierd.

Hmmmmmmm since the tires are brand new (assuming here, less than 1000 miles on them?) I would wonder if this is the problem. The tire growl comes w/ uneven tread wear, so if they are brand new I don't know. I got the Toyo Proxes T1-S, which is an excellent sport tire, some others have gone w/ the Michelin sport tires, some w/ the Pirelli's. I think it's just a matter of preference, but you should go w/ a good composite tire that is rated well for tread wear, and speed rated for your driving practices. The problem w/ the potenzas is that the composite is soooooooo soft they wear very quickly. Most people w/ those tires find they are changing tires around the 12000 mile mark w/ the Z's/potenzas.

Hi guys I have the exact same problem. I think it's the CV or something in that area because on my last oil change my CV booth looked chewed up a little.
