I have a 98 A6 2.8 quattro that appears to have a failing starter. The starter turns the engine over, but without enough energy to start. I checked battery, no problems, so it looks like the starter is the next place to check.

Anyone have experience with this problem? How difficult is this to change? It looks like the starter sits low in the engine compartment and will require removal of radiator. Am I right? Difficulty?

Any ideas?
