RX7000 -> S6 & RS6 (5/22/2006 10:16:53 AM)

Does anybody hav an idea as to what the spec of the new RS6 will be?

I reckon the S6 5.2 V10 lambo engine will be used with a possible biturbo setup like the old RS6 v8

Any ideas

[:D]

v8 twin turbo 4.2

480hp

pturbo -> RE: S6 & RS6 (5/28/2006 7:38:59 PM)

I haven't heard anything about the new RS6 being aspirated. My guess is that since they didn't go for M5 or AMG numbers with the S6, that they will go for it with the RS6's numbers by wringing some more power out of the V10.

michal -> RE: S6 & RS6 (5/28/2006 11:07:36 PM)

what's the tourqe?

pturbo -> RE: S6 & RS6 (5/29/2006 1:01:04 AM)

I don't know the torque of the RS6 off the top of my head.

dab -> RE: S6 & RS6 (7/13/2006 10:56:52 AM)

torque is 415 ft pounds.

Trev -> RE: S6 & RS6 (7/13/2006 11:14:12 AM)

I would also guess that the new RS6 is going to come aspirated w/ a V10...SICK! Can't wait to see that thing! If I could afford it and get a good enough trade in on my RS4, no question, I would trade!

Trev -> RE: S6 & RS6 (7/13/2006 3:47:37 PM)

I was up at my dealer earlier getting the drivers side rear wheel well replaced b/c the padding used primarily for absorbing road noise was coming undone (another manufacturer error)...fixed for free of course.
*Anyway, While I was there, I talked w/ my friend (salesman) about the upcoming RS6. He said it won't be available until fall of '07. A buddy of his was touring Audi's sites over in Germany and some of the engineers and him went out. Needless to say they had a few to many and spilled a couple beans.
Here is what I know. First, it will come with the V10 and be twin turbo...Hell ya! Second, should be debuting the same time as the R8 coupe. Honestly, I saw pics of the R8 coming out and it is one of the sickest cars I have ever seen period. The RS6 will run around $100K and the R8 around $115k. I believe the R8 is gonna also have the V10 w/ twin turbo (in a coupe-crazy) and Audi is already accepting deposits for the R8!
The only thing we are unsure of is if the RS6 will be manual or auto? My friend and I will put money on the fact that it will be manual for three reasons. First, The new M5 is being changed from the SMG to a manual b/c of the lack of interest and function...good, I hate tiptronic-whats the point, eventually it will shift for you! Second, with all of that power in the RS6 why run it through an automatic? Oh and third, the S6 is auto so why would the RS6 be the same? Just thought you all might like to know.

PS-If the R8 or RS6 are w/financial limits, I will sell my RS4 and market it on this site first FYI. I have no plans of getting rid of this baby anytime soon though! Going to keep it for atleast 2 years.

It most likely will come with a Tiptronic or DSG (at best).. You'd still trade the sportier RS4?

I'd rather supercharge my RS4 tha trade up to that bigger car. You lose a bit of handling with a car that size.

Trev -> RE: S6 & RS6 (7/14/2006 1:32:19 AM)

It would be a tough decision and I agree, moding out the RS4 would be the way to go. Supercharger, chip, exhaust=wax 'em all! If you did those mods just right, you could end up w/ 0-60 times in the low 3's...yikes!
I am 6'3 and a bigger car isn't necessarily a bad thing. I love my RS4 and have no intention on trading/selling it anytime soon FYI. It was more of a hypothetical response to an array of new RS/R info.

I hear you. If you're 6' 3 I don't blame you. Being just under 6' the RS4 is just about comfortable. If I grew even a half inch I'd be hard pressed to feel comfortable. Good thing you only get shorter with age :)

myaudi98 -> RE: S6 & RS6 (7/29/2006 1:40:33 PM)

The new RS6 should have the v10 and here is a pic of what it should look like! Freakin badass if you ask me!

kovachian -> RE: S6 & RS6 (7/29/2006 3:23:15 PM)

Damn, that RS6 is THE car to have. If I was an RS4 owner I wouldn't bother with a whole lot of modding to keep pace. For one, how much boost do you think you're gonna run on 12.5:1 compression?! You pay 25 grand for an MTM blower, god knows how much for someone to tear down the FSI 4.2 and throw in low compression pistons & whatnot and by the time all is said and done, you end up with a car that may or may not be much faster than a yet-to-be-built RS6 and definitely far less reliable. For me, it's V10 or bust.

RX7000 -> RE: S6 & RS6 (10/10/2006 5:17:27 AM)

RS6 all the way

Dr.S4 -> RE: S6 & RS6 (10/10/2006 6:58:08 AM)

Lets see Audi try something new - quad turbo

jokes aside dont expect any biturbo jobs on any of the performance stuff from Audi in the near future - it will all be N/A free revving engines unfortunatly[:o]

RX7000 -> RE: S6 & RS6 (10/10/2006 7:29:10 AM)

yeah i wouldnt be surprised either, but being Audi the enignes will be great.

Quad turbos on the 5.2 V10, insanity at its highest

Dr.S4 -> RE: S6 & RS6 (10/10/2006 7:51:32 PM)

Merc has the tri turbo diesel V8 doesnt it[8|]

Mott Power -> RE: S6 & RS6 (10/11/2006 8:21:41 PM)

The only reason the M5 is so rediculous in acceleration is because of the 7-speed transmission, shorter gearing = more acceleration. I wouldn't be suprised if Audi makes a 7-speed as well. As far as power goes, naturally aspirated with 100 hp/liter is a no brainer, I highly doubt twin-turbo. So expect around 520 hp or more NA with lots more torque.
