Default The B5 to B6, it can be done! Cant it?

I flipped through Eurotuner and caught sight of a red A4 1.8T 2003-2005 model. A sleak look, nice and new. Then I looked at the 2001 S4 I am about to buy and got sad...why cant I have those headlights? The tail lights look impossible to swap, but what if you get an A4 2003 carbon fiber hood with matching fenders? Would the A4 headlights match up?

Basically would you be able to mod the whole front end of the B6 body to a B5? Comparing the panels side by side you can see the similarities, anyone tried it yet? or have any input?

Im also wondering about the newer body kits for B6's. They look (except for the rear) like they can be molded. This issue also has an A4 with an M3 kit on it. VERY NICE!

Ill update with info as it comes, but anyone willing to research this with me would be appreciated.

Thanks everybody!!

This is my soon to be car.....needs a lot of work!

lol, not quite what I was going for, but...

The tail lights, im not sure. But they look a lot like the ones I have pictured at the bottom which I found on ebay. I hope that points you in the right direction. I guess you can call them "smoked tail lights" Im not a huge fan of em, but then again, thats just my opinion. I think they are even a good price, and ill sell those when I pick up the car in August!

lol there the codes for the car models, like with the mazda rx-7 for example: 1992-last year they were made= fd3s
the older ones were the fc3s
each code is a different generation of the same car

You can't make a B5 look like a B6 but you can add some of the B7 looks to the B5.

Ooh, you've got my attention! Would you happen to have any links related to that? Or could you elaborate? Sounds like that could make for some fun projects.

In all cases- Nope. The B5's are completely different from the B6's. There are similar mods you can do to your B5 to make it more aggressive. Take a look around the gallery for some ideas. If you're still not happy, take a look at the photo gallery AudiWorld has covering Waterfest 12.

Those are the chassis codes. B5 is for 1996-2001 A4's and 2000-2002 S4's. B6 is the code for the 2002-2005 A4's and 2004-2005 S4's. There was no 03 S4. B7 is the code for the Current A4's and S4's starting in 2005.5. They changed the body style for the B7 in a the half year. The B6's and B7's share a lot of the same parts. They chaged the way it looks on the outside and interior, but very little under the skin changed. You can actually use any B6 suspension ungrades on a B7 and vice versa.
