My car is responding in a similar fashion to post by HoosUrDaddi in message http://www.audiforums.com/showProfile.asp?memid=3360. Replaced fuse and blows again. Big difference between my problem and his is that only work recently done to my car was oil change and car wash. Problem appeared following this.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Gary

There is a TSB (technical service bulletin) on Fuse #14 blowing. It's a pinched or chafed wiring harness in the sun visor. It says wiring pinched or chafed by mounting screws holding sun visor up. There is a repair harness available from the dealer, it's VAS1978.

You may be able to repair it yourself by removing visor and repairing wires then rerunning them away from the mounting bracket.

I find a little piece of tin foil instead of a fuse works better. (j/k!)

I did that once when I was in highschool. Everything worked fine until I got an electrical fire under the dash. Looked like Cheech and Chong when I opened the door to get the hell out.
